Penny has worked in a variety of educational settings for over 15 years with all age groups including teaching supply in secondary and in Further and Higher Education. She has a PGCE from the Institute of Education, training at Kingston College of Further and Higher Education, QTLS status, an enhanced DBS disclosure and has experience teaching at secondary, tertiary and higher education settings.


2019-present Sessional lecturer at Loughborough University teaching various courses in Fine Art.

2019-2020 Sessional tutor at De Montfort University on the BA Fine Art course.

2018-2019 Course leader on the HNC Arts Practice Programme at Grantham College.

2017-2018 Teaching GCSE Fine art and Photography and A Level Fine Art (AQA) at South Nottinghamshire Academy.

2017-2018 Creative Minds Artist mostly working with the elderly in care homes in Nottingham. 

2016-17 Teaching life drawing and drawing classes to the public in rural Nottinghamshire.

2016 Leading adult education classes in casting with plaster and rag-rug making at The Spring Arts Centre, Havant, Hampshire.

2008-2013 Tutoring adult education classes in sculpture and printmaking at Attenborough Arts Leicester.

2009 Creative Partnerships Practitioner working with Smart Start Nursery Leicester, Humberstone Infant School Leicester and Herrick Primary School Leicester developing and delivering a programme of workshops with groups of children within the school setting.

2006-2009 Freelance Gallery Educator/ Workshop leader at the City Gallery Leicester developing a wide range of workshops for a variety of audiences including a project with Eyres Monsell Primary School and Birth Talk Leicester. The Birth Talk project culminated in an exhibition of the participants work at LCB Depot, Leicester.

2006 Leading sculpture workshops at Belgrave Hall with the community and at Fosse Arts Leicester with primary aged children.

2006  Artist in residence (developing and delivering workshops with children) at Highley Primary School Highley, Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

2002 Activity Worker developing and delivering a week long programme of workshops for 14-16 year olds for 'Young At Art' at The London Institute, London.
